Guardian Home Program
Follow us!
Becoming a Guardian Home is a beautiful way to welcome one of our future mamas into your family while playing a vital role in the heart of our program. So what is a Guardian Home? A guardian home is a special partnership between our program and a carefully selected family. Your Guardian dog will be raised, loved, and included in your everyday life, just as we envision for every DALD dog. From daily walks, bedtime cuddles, and your favorite routines, while we partner together during her health testing and, if she's selected, future litters.
What We Look for in a Guardian Home
We choose our Guardian families with great care, as this is a truly teamwork-based relationship. Our ideal families are:
-
Able to maintain excellent communication
-
Live within 1 hour of the area code 75134
-
Financially prepared for professional grooming (6-8 week schedule), routine care, and vet care
-
Willing to train and socialize the dog. Must sign up for 2 classes during the first year.
-
Without other intact dogs in the home
If you've followed our program for a while, you know how deeply we value relationships. Our Guardian families become part of our extended DALD family, and we walk this journey together with trust and purpose.

How the Guardian Process Works
Your Guardian dog lives with you full-time as your family dog. My role comes in during specific parts of her breeding journey, and everything is planned out and communicated ahead of time so there are no surprises. When she goes into heat, she'll come stay with me for breeding, typically 1-3 days. After that, she goes right back home with you and continues life as normal. About 1 week before her due date, she'll stay with me so I can prepare for whelping and make sure she's fully supported through delivery and the birth of her puppies. Once puppies are fully weaned, around 6-7 weeks, she goes right back home to you. You're always welcome to visit during our scheduled "puppy litter visit day". Most of our girls will whelp 4-5 litters. After that, I'll have her spayed at my expense, and full ownership is transferred to you.
Why We Offer A Guardian Program
Our Guardian Program allows us to continue raising purposefully bred, well-tempered, and fully health-tested Goldendoodles without ever compromising the lifestyle or well-being of our dogs. Every DALD dog deserves a family, a couch, a safe place to sleep, and a life full of love. Guardianship makes that possible.
